2025 Honda Passport: Everything You Need to Know About the Redesigned SUV – The Honda Passport is a midsize SUV with a spacious cabin, a powerful V6 engine, and a rugged design. Based on the Honda Pilot, the Passport is more off-road focused and has a shorter wheelbase. After a long hiatus, the Passport was reintroduced in 2019. It received a facelift in 2022 with a new TrailSport trim that added more features and styling cues for adventure seekers.

However, the Passport is due for a significant overhaul in 2025. Honda is expected to launch the fourth-generation model with a new platform, design, powertrain, and technology. Here’s what we know so far about the 2025 Honda Passport.

Design: Exterior and Interior

The 2025 Honda Passport will likely share its platform and design language with the 2023 Honda Pilot, which was redesigned with a boxier and more stylish look. The Passport will retain its distinctive body cladding and robust front bumper. Still, it will also get new headlights, grille, taillights, liftgate, and rear bumper. In addition, the Passport will become more significant than the existing model and have a more extensive interior.

A more straightforward and contemporary dashboard will be featured in the 2025 Honda Passport. The HVAC controls will be arranged in a row beneath the touchscreen, which will be moved to sit above the dashboard. The Passport will also install a new digital instrument cluster and steering wheel. The inside finishes and materials will be upgraded to give the cabin a more upscale appearance.

The 2025 Honda Passport will accommodate up to five passengers, with ample headroom, legroom, and shoulder room. The cargo space will also be generous, with over 41 cubic feet behind the rear seats and over 77 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The Passport will also have plenty of storage compartments and cup holders throughout the cabin.

Powertrain

The 2025 Honda Passport will likely continue to use the 3.5-liter V6 engine that powers the current model. The engine has a 10-speed automatic transmission and generates 262 pound-feet of torque in addition to 280 horsepower. The Passport will also come standard with all-wheel drive, enhancing its performance and traction on different terrains.

However, the 2025 Honda Passport could also offer a new mild-hybrid powertrain option, improving fuel efficiency and emissions. The details of this powertrain have yet to be discovered. Still, it could be similar to the one available for the Honda CR-V Hybrid in some markets. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors produce 212 horsepower in the CR-V Hybrid.

Release Date and Price

The 2025 Honda Passport is expected to debut in late 2024 or early 2025 as a 2025 model year vehicle. The pricing for the new Passport is not available yet, but it could start at around $42,000 for the base trim level. The current Passport ranges from $41,100 to $48,900, depending on the trim level and options.
